World Internet Summit Asia 2006, Singapore

The WIS Asia was held in Singapore recently, 25th - 28th November 2006. This 4 days event is the world leading’s leading internet marketing event - seen worldwide in countries like Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, UK and USA.. just to name a few. This year event included speakers like  Jay Abraham as the key note speaker, Tom Hua, Brett Mcfall, Stephen Pierce, Jo Han Mok, David Cavanagh, Rick Raddatz, Willie Crawford, John Childers, Matt Bacak, Ewen Chia, Andrew & Daryl Grant and also Fabian Lim..

In Jay’s opening speech, he covered the 5 ways to create business, such as work on activities that pay current bills, future incomes, windfalls, emotional wealth and drivers for growth. Next was the 5 keys to win big business. It was a very inspirational speech to me. He had strongly demostrated his strength in proposing and solving business related issues.

To start with, here is a briefl summary the subjects delivered by the individual speakers. The information presented was just to overwhelming and not possible for me to narrate in details although I sincerely want to share with all.

The first speaker was Rick Raddatz. He spoke on 5 principles of acceleration. Then what is acceleration in this case?  It is using leverage to bigger profits, faster.

Part I: The Core Principlesof Profits Acceleration. To achieve this, you need tools like website buildling, web audio & web video, emails auto responders, headline testing and customer support tools.

Part II: Accelerated Info-Product Creation. Why info-products? Because it can be used to accelerate any business. It is profitable, great as front end and back end sales. Easy to create and distribute

Part III: Accelerated Product Marketing. The challenge is how to create the ideal web site. The problems facing here are: optin page, professionl design, audio and video, split tester, email database, autoresponder etc..

Part IV: Accelerated Affiliate Marketing. Affiliate marketing is lighting fast, you can creat 10 affiliate marketing site in a single day! Wise marketers focus on ONE market place but multiple products. As you built your list, your power grows. It works regardless of business model or market.

PartV: Accelerated Video-Newsletter Production. This is a powerful tool whereby your potential customers are able to see you in person.

Last but not least: Putting it all Together. There are 6 business models in the internet today. They are:

a. own a product or service

b. own a list (affilate marketing)

c. own a social site (network)

d. own traffic (advertising)

e. own a relationships (MLM)

f. own your time (consultant)

Finally your business has a mind and body. To succeed, you need good focus will power, good tools and more importantly, the desire to succeed mindset.

My Toastmaster Project 2 Presentation - How To Start An Internet Business With Information Products

I am currently a member of an established ToastMaster Club in Singapore. The following is the full transcript of my Project 2 presentation delivered on the 8 Dec 2006.

Last year, there were more than a billion people on the internet. There were more than 250 billions searches done!
Total on-line sales accounted to US$ 170 billions.
Good evening Madam President, fellow toastmasters, ladies and gentlemen.

Our fellow Singaporean by the name of Ewen Chia, managed to bring in US$1.4 millions in merely 36 hours selling information products!

Let me share with you how this can be done easily!

I will show you how to create an information product in the form of an e-book.

What is an e-book you may ask. It is none other than an information document in PDF format.

There are many steps in creating an e-book. And I will show you the basic 3 steps:

1. Conduct a research and determine the marketability of the information product
2. Create the products
3. Setup up your own personal website to market the  product

Let me go into the details…
Step 1: Research your idea and determine the marketability of the product you want to sell.  We must understand that people will only buy what they need. That means we have to focus on the niche market.  Public Speaking and communication skills are what people sought after these days.  With these skills you can advance your career, increase your business, and build happy relationships at home and workplace.  It is HOT.

I shall use ‘public speaking’ or ‘communication skill’ as the subject of this ebook. But can such a product sell in the internet market place? To find out, I can do a research in the internet to see if this idea is feasible.  One way is to use Google to search for key words like ‘public speaking’ or ‘communication skill’. Or use some tools available in the internet to search for the same keywords.

As you can see, based on my research result, it shows that there are about 24,000 searches for ‘public speaking’ compared to more than 400,000 searches for ‘weight loss’. However, I feel that the interest in  ‘public speaking’ is still attractive enough for us to pursue in this area. Once a topic is decided upon,  we need to brainstorm on our own or get some friends to help. I will write down at least 50 or even 100 ideas concerning public speaking and communication skill. The more the better. After establishing the demand for public speaking and communication skills, you will ascertain the competition. The next concern would be is there competitors in the same market. However, in this case, having competition is good because it means there is a demand for the public speaking skill related information in the market. In contrast, if there are no competitors means nobody is interested in this topic, so it would be very risky to create such  product  when nobody is buying. Very importantly, those people who are searching for public speaking information must have a credit card and are willing to spend the money in buying the information on line.

Step 2: Creating e-book Product
Once the decision is made, we could proceed to compile information concerning public speaking. We can either do the writing on our own or outsource to a ghost writer to create a public speaking e-book.  Obviously it will be cheaper if we could produce our own e-book. Upon completion of the e-book, we could invite friends like you guys to help us review and comment, or even suggest improvement to the content. Once this is done, we are ready to sell this first product. But how to do that?

That bring us to step 3, how to create Website and sell We could create a simple web site to promote this product. We would need to write a good sales letter to sell this e-book on my web site. Should I build the website on my own or outsource? I decide to do both. Do part of it on my own and outsource the rest to my wife. While the construction is in progress, I would need to engage an on-line company that specializes in on-line transaction. The service would include credit card processing and product distribution on-line. That is to say, there would not be any physical product shipment. The buyer will simply download the e-book on-line upon payment. Isn’t that simple?

Why is internet business attractive?
These are the reasons:
a. very easy and affordable to start
b. no overhead
c. no employee
d. no inventory
e. zero delivery cost – instant download
f. 100% margin
g. And it is a completely automated business

In summary, let us recap the 3 steps to create an online product:
a. good research on the internet
b. create the product in the form on an e-book
c. build a web site and market the e-book well

With this e-book, I believe more people can communicate more effectively, not only in the business and social arenas but also in their personal relationships with loved ones and families.

So how many are interested in this e-book and make lot money on the internet? Can I have a show of hands please?
